Fight Back!

I constantly receive emails from fans fed up with NFL officials and looking for a way to make a difference. In all honesty, there's not much we can do. The league clearly doesn't care about quality officials or they would hold officials accountable for their mistakes and poor job performance. The very fact that Walt Coleman is still employed by the NFL as a Referee is proof positive the league doesn't give a damn. So what can we do as fans?

1. Call or write the NFL to complain. Let the league know you're fed up with the quality of NFL officials. Give specifics and be polite. They'll ignore you if you rant and rave. They're more likely to listen if you sound reasonable:

National Football League
280 Park Avenue
New York, NY 10017
(212) 450-2000

2. Don't buy NFL licensed merchandise. The NFL is a business. Money talks. If enough fans boycott the NFL and let the league know that poor officiating is the reason for the boycott, then maybe the league will pay more attention.

3. Don't attend games. As previously stated...money talks.

4. Email local sports reporters when you see bad calls. The NFL ignores people like you and me because we're small and have no voice. The league is more likely to pay attention when sports reporters talk about the leagues problems.

5. Boycott Sponsors. You don't need to drink Coors Light, the official beer of the NFL. There are many other beers...many other BETTER beers. In short, avoid NFL sponsors. Email NFL sponsors and let them know why you're boycotting their products.

6. Post Examples. I'll keep hammering away, but I need your help! Photos, screen captures, video files, or links to examples of poor officiating are always appreciated! Join the forums and post!
